LabChip Spectral Analysis
The LabChip DS is the newest member of the Labchip product family. The LabChip DS (made by Trinean) is the first μL microplate reader giving full spectrum scans of 96 samples in less than 6 minutes. The DS is a new multichannel spectrophotometer for quick and precise UV-VIS spectral analysis of microliter droplets of DNA/RNA, protein or small compounds. This spectrophotometer has all the characteristics of a plate reader, but uses specific DropPlate16/96 chips with 0.5-2.5 µl samples. The LabChip DS complements Caliper’s existing LabChip GX and LabChip GXII which provides fluorescent, electrophoretic analysis of fragments of nucleic acids and proteins.
LabChip Discovery
The LabChip EZ Reader and LabChip 3000 drug discovery systems have revolutionized enzymatic screening, providing a level of accuracy and reproducibility not found on any other platform. With over 75% of the top 15 pharmaceutical companies actively using LabChip technology in their drug discovery programs, it is clear that Caliper’s microfluidics systems are the new gold standard for kinase profiling. When combined with our ProfilerPro Kinase Selectivity Kits Caliper’s discovery systems provide researchers with a turn-key solution to in-house kinase profiling, which translates into better drug candidates, faster.

CHNOS Analysis and the Vario Micro Cube
CHNOS Analysis
Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur are the basic elements of living nature. Their quantitative determination within the most versatile combinations and substances is the origin and essence of the ELEMENTAR manufacturing program.
Through quantitative high temperature decomposition, solid or liquid substances are changed into gaseous combinations. The gas mixture is cleaned, separated into its components and through efficient detectors determined with a precision and accuracy of up to 0.1% relative.
Most important is the lare dynamic range of detection, from < 0.01 to 100%. This range is even possible when there is a great difference in relative concentrations (i.e. trace nitrogen in the presence of high carbon content). ELEMENTAR analyzers also feature very large sample size capabilities from < 1mg up to several grams.
This wide range of applications with universal as well as special instruments is only achieved by ELEMENTAR.
The Vario Micro Cube
The modern “cube” platform is setting the standards for elemental analyzers. Outstanding instrument design and intelligent engineering in combination with the worldwide longest experience in the development of elemental micro-analyzers lead to unmatched precision of your analysis.
Less than 1 mg pharmaceuticals can be analyzed just as precise as 800 mg soil samples. Volatile gasoline or temperature-proof silicon carbide can be analyzed just like coal, foodstuff or sewage sludge – without restriction of the elements, simultaneously for CHNS or for the combinations CNS, CHN, CN, O and Cl.
Universality and analytic performance of the vario Micro cube are also the basis for applications with isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS, Isoprime).
Modes
CHNS; CHN, CNS, CN: all available from the basic unit.Optional detection of oxygen (with TCD or IR) and chlorine
Specifications
High temperature combustion

Microwave Digestion and the CEM solution
Microwave digestion is an industrial technique in use by scientists worldwide to dissolve heavy metals in the presence of organic molecules, prior to the analysis by inductively coupled plasma, atomic absorption, or atomic emission measurement. This technique is accomplished by exposing a sample to a strong acid in a closed vessel, and raising the pressure and temperature though microwave irradiation. This increase in temperature and pressure of the low pH sample medium thereby increases both the speed of thermal decomposition of the sample, and the solubility of heavy metals in solution. Once these heavy metals are in solution, it is possible to quantitate or quantify the sample through elemental techniques.

MARS System

The CEM MARSXpress Option
Optimum Control for the Microwave Digestion of High-Throughput or Routine Samples
With the advanced technology of the MARS System with the MARSXpress option from CEM, high-pressure digestions are easier than before and accurate in its results.
Features
* MARSXpress displays and permanently records temperature readings for all vessels!
* Process up to 40 samples simultaneously
* No connections, no tools needed!
* Accurate internal temperature control
* Optional connection-free pressure regulation
* Confirmation of temperature for every vessel
The advanced design of the MARSXpress vessel in combination with CEM’s sophisticated and highly sensitive IR temperature sensors mean the internal temperature of each vessel is measured virtually instantaneously without any of the lag associated with competitive IR-based systems. The heart of the system is the dual NIST traceable calibrated temperature measurement system. The sensors accurately and instantaneously measure the temperature of each individual vessel, providing users with unmatched control of digestion parameters, as well as safety.
Maximum Control Option
Maximum Control for the Microwave Digestion of High-Temperature or High-Pressure Samples

Features:
* Optional all-vessel temperature control
* Highest temperatures (up to 300 °C) or pressures (up to 1500 psi)
* Easy “pop-in” sensor connections
* In situ temperature control
* Direct pressure feedback & control
The MARS Microwave Digestion System can be configured with XP-1500 Plus™ vessels, the ESP-1500 Plus™ and RTP-300 Plus™ reference vessel controls and DuoTemp for the highest temperature and pressure conditions available with maximum safety and control.
Fluoropolymer liners of TFM®, combined with CEM’s proprietary composite sleeve material and open frame architecture makes this high technology molded vessel the safest option for extreme matrices. Quite simply, these vessels are the lightest, strongest and fastest cooling vessels available. The strength-to-weight ratio of CEM’s advanced vessel designs negates the need for exterior cooling devices. Accessory cooling blowers, water baths, or ice baths are redundant now that the CEM cooling options are way ahead of the league.
All MARS Microwave Digestion Systems contain built-in software safeguards that disallow programming to unsafe combinations of pressure and temperature. CEM offers a range of liner choices for its vessels including TFM, PFA, quartz, and glass.

The use of steel in Lab Furniture
Flores Valles, the gold standard in laboratory furniture, has come up with an innovative line of laboratory system, the product of years of relentless researching and quality assurance.
With a steel framework forming the basic raw material–always a safe measure as far as laboratory furniture is concerned–the Flores valles lineup comprises of a minimalistic design, suited for space, and green and white colours.
The basis of the Flores Valles furniture repository consists of ST-32 cold-rolled steel according to 17,140 standards, subject to processes that include cold rolling, degreasing and electrolytic zinc-plating. Obviously, the use of this material ensures that moisture or stress-alterability of furniture will not damage the lab tables and fields. Other products that use melamine covered clipboard or plastics score lower points in this regard.
The performance is unaltered under the duress of heat or cold, and the chemical resistance (the lack of which can cause erosion or corrosion) is exponentially increased. Easy cleaning of biologically hazardous materials is a given when steel is used, instead of altered or synthetic wood-panelling.
With over 180 years of service in this field, Flores Valles has set a new benchmark that is preferred by the leading laboratories worldwide. The functionability and the dependability of Flores Valles has been amply demonstrated in Muscat, Oman by the diversity of their projects here. The Food and Drink Sector, the Environment Sector, the Oil and Gas Sector, Education Sector and the Ministry of Commerce in Oman has made use of Flores Valles furniture and services.
Global Source Trading is proud to be associated with Flores Valles, and is their authorized dealer in Oman. For more information on Flore Valles products and their benefits, click here.
